MENLO PARK, CA – Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently expressed his profound enthusiasm for the potential of AI in an interview with Forbes.

He believes that AI is on the cusp of transforming various aspects of our lives and reshaping the technology industry as a whole. In his own words, he referred to recent AI advancements as "awesome progress."

Zuckerberg on AI

Zuckerberg's vision for the future revolves around the widespread integration of AI into our daily routines. He envisions a world where people interact with different AI systems for various tasks throughout their day. He emphasized this point by stating:

"There’s going to be a lot of different AIs that people interact with for different things and that we interact with throughout our day."

According to Zuckerberg, AI and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) are the most promising innovations on the horizon. He particularly highlighted the immersive experiences offered by VR technology, such as Meta's Oculus Quest, where people can "feel physically present" through avatars.

Moreover, he believes that AR glasses will one day seamlessly overlay digital images onto the real world, creating a unique and magical experience.

Meta and AI

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, is committed to making AI an integral part of its apps and products.

When questioned about competitors, Zuckerberg downplayed the importance of focusing on them. Instead, he emphasized Meta's dedication to "relentlessly" improving its own execution. He also noted that valuable ideas can come from sources outside the company, acknowledging the importance of learning from successful products developed by competitors.
